Larger tattersall shirts

I am looking for a good source for tattersall shirts in larger sizes. Think 19"-20" neck or 3-4xl. Google is little help and where I live the made-to-measure options are very limited. So my fellow GOS of the Rabble, where do you buy your tattersalls? I would love to find an American source so the shipping will be less, but I am very open to overseas shops.

Alternatively, does anyone know of a good MTM option online? Kilts and jackets can be custom made from measurements taken over the internet, so why not shirts?

Personally I just keep an eye out whenever at ordinary department stores and clothing stores. I wear 18.5 shirts.

Here are some shirts I picked up at ordinary shops which tick all the boxes of the traditional Tattersall style shirt: traditional collar, long sleeves, traditional Tattersall pattern (two-colour check evenly sized and spaced).

So often US shirts almost get it right, but put buttons on the collars, or have point collars, or short sleeves, or have something amiss about the check pattern.

I have a closet full of their tattersall and country check shirts. (I’ve also purchased jackets and boots from them as well and have been pleased with everything.)

They have a great selection of colors and patterns and are inexpensive (though the shipping seems a bit much).

They’re great knock around shirts that are suitable for kilt wear, but are not in the same league as higher-priced shirts. Are they as nice as Brooks Brothers or Orvis shirts? No. But they look good, wear well and are inexpensive.

And the 4XL shirts are listed as having a 53cm neck (20.47”).

I checked a couple of my usual sources to no avail. I did google "big & tall tattersall," and found Cutter & Buck. Not bad, but not quite what I'd be looking for.

I have two of these pure cotton tattersall shirts from Hogg's of Fife, and Clan.com stocks them up to 19"/3XL. I'm a 17" neck and their XL fits great.

Those Riddle shirts that Shaun posted above look just about perfect.

Be careful, some of the cheaper end of shirt makers and suppliers -----a couple have been already mentioned------- and whilst they may have the appropriate collar size, are cut with little room for the larger chested and large of arm and shoulder to move, the cloth is also of doubtful quality too and in my experience are soon past their best for smart attire.

I find a little more research and a little more expense is a better route to take in all aspects, not least that it is cheaper in the long run.

I don't know what sort of tattersall pattern fabrics they might have in stock at the moment, but I have had good luck with MTM shirts from Modern Tailor moderntailor.com. Their workshop is in Shanghai, so shipping may be impacted by the current circumstances. But their fabrics and workmanship are very good.

I have also found tattersall shirts from Lands End.
