Does Poly V need to be washed?

Just took delivery of a length of Poly V tartan material. Does it need to be pre-washed and what temperature?
    Thank you

I personally, wash all fabric before beginning any project. Sewing a kilt, a shirt or anything.

The Synthetic fabrics will not shrink as much as Wool or Cotton but there is often excess dye or sizing still on the fabric. Washing helps to remove that excess.

For the very first washing I wash Synthetics in cold or warm water no hotter than 100° F or 38° C. I wash Wool in cold. And Cotton fabrics in as hot as my washer will manage.

After the first washing everything is washed in cold.
