Police fancy sporran chain?

So, I found this metal belt on eBay. The description says it's 73 inches long. I figure, with a small amount of tweaking and/or modding, it would make a nice fancy sporran chain (or two). I'm interested in what you guys think.

The links may cause wear on the kilt, hard to tell from the pictures... check to make certain there are no parts to catch on the fabric. ( might need to put a radius on edges)

Be very careful what your doing here as those shields [what people call badges] are NYPD. Several years ago the City of New York went to court and got certain items copyrighted; as people were making all kinds of articles for sale using various pieces of police paraphernalia. Patches are no problem and you can still get shirts, mugs etc. for personal use. However anything with the NYC emblem on or in it shields, buttons etc. are copyright protected.
