Moccasins with a kilt?
Don't know how all of you feel about it but I have a pair of brown knee high boot moccaisns that I like to wear with my kilts. I was looking for something a little lower, just above the ankle, and came across this.

At those prices, I pulled the trigger on a couple of pair. Just passing it on.

You'll have to post a pic when you get them in (with the kilt, of course)

LOLOLOLOL, the men's boots are on another page. Ham. Only women's shoes I like are high heels with ankle straps.

I bought a pair of Minnitonka ankle-high mocs like these:

I got the black ones, then cut the fringe off. I really like them. They aren't as macho as the Army boots, but I think they look good. And they sure are comfortable!

moccasins
The Highland Regiments that served over here in the French & Indian Wars many times adopted Indian moccasins and wool leggings for wear in the field, so why not? -- Just don't wear them wi' evening wear!

Todd,
Do you know of any good books that tell about the
Highland Regiments and their service in the French and Indian war?
I have been on the tour that the
Scottish Tartan Museum in Franklin conducted in October.
They did state that many of the Highland regiments were kilted.
Does that stack up with what you know
of the regiments?

Highlander's History
I'm planning to put together a page with some information about the Highlanders in western PA. I've been emailing with a fellow who is in a Highlanders reinactment group. He sent me this information:
Did you know that the first time that the kilt appeared in our area [Pittsburgh] was at the Battle of Grant's Hill on Sept.14th 1758 (where the County Courthouse,Frick Building and Kaufman's Dept.Store now stand?) Major James Grant of the 77th Regt.of Foote (Montgomery's Highlanders) was defeated there by French & Indians from Ft.Duquesne. We did a documentary titled "George Washington's First War:The Battles for Fort Duquesne" http://www.paladincom.com where this battle appears for the first time on film ever.
Check out the videos at the link he provided--I've added them to my Christmas list already!
