New photo - mountain man
I added a photo to my gallery from yesterday, chopping wood at Zealand Falls Hut in the White Mountains. I have a friend caretaking up there, so I went up to visit overnight. Temps got down to 6F (-14C) this morning, but it wasn't too bad, especially when hiking.

That was me, though in this photo I'm wearing a wool kilt (Co. Longford). The friend I was visiting is one I met on the trail.

Great Pic's Andrew.
I was just wondering ...Here in Norway the Temps can get down well into the blue -10 to -25 c is nothing uncommon. Have you ever hiked in these temps in a kilt ?
Also you do you keep warm while taking a break ?

I haven't hiked with it that cold, but I have worn a kilt. Hiking would be fine, since the exercise will get your blood flowing. As for standing around, I don't think you'd be any colder than anyone else, unless they're wearing longjohns or something under their trousers.

I just wanted to say that your Co. Longford kilt is one sharp looking kilt! I used to hate the Irish tartans, but I love them more and more all the time, and I'm really digging yours. If I ever get enough money again for another "tank", it's going to be a Co. Armagh.8)
