    Ordered some proper kilt hose

As some folks here know, I have been knitting a pair of hose, but wanted to see a quality commercial version. Ordered the merino Lewis in navy.

    These are fantastic!

I like the feel, the fit, the thickness, the ribbing up the leg, and the twisted cable at the top. They look good! Most knee-highs are skimpy in length, and so many wool socks today feel like compression socks. These are comfortable, and generously long.

The above is probably NOT news to anyone on this forum, but thought I'd give a shout-out and a thumbs-up.

    Thank you to USA Kilts.

Not yet. I am at the start of the heel of the first, and worked the cuff and several inches of the main part of the leg, on the second.

It'll be a few more weeks.

    By hand.

Hiya Hiya needles fixed circulars, the older version, not "Sharp" on a 40" cord, US1 (2.25mm). I have the same in 60" if I decide to divide the round into 4 sections for the foot. Current division is in thirds, on magic loop.

Yarn is Frangipani, in the dusty blue "Cordova" color. This is traditionally a gansey yarn - it is making a thick, densely knit sock. Gage would be probably 8 sts/inch if I were knitting stockinette. However, the knitting is all a ribbing variation, with two 6 stitch cables framing a diamond center.
