    Help with Tartan identification

    Hi All,

    I've tried all of the usual searches, including google images and the Scottish Register of Tartans, but couldn't find it. Anyone have any idea what it is?

    Here is another one. I am having a lot of trouble loading it into the message but hopefully you can open the attachment? I had to shrink it a great deal for it to be uploaded, so hopefully it is better, but I am not sure.

    Thanks. Unfortunately it's not much better. Can you confirm whether there are black guards to the yellow and red stripes? Also, that that double stripe on the green are black?

    It is very close to a personal tartan designed by Alexander Manroth of Bad Hoenningen, Germany c.2002 and it may be that my/the STA record is incorrect (the entry on the SRT certainly is).
    If you can email me a larger image that would be helpful - research@scottishtartansauthority.com

    @figheadair,
    I was able to zoom in on the second picture and can confirm all of the elements you're asking about are there.

    I am away doing research in Vietnam at the moment. I bought the kilt on Ebay while passing time in the evening. My daughter sent me the photo. So, I am not sure I can say definitively, but if by black guards to the yellow/red stripes, you mean a narrow outline, it does look like it. The double stripe also looks black.

    I have emailed you a couple of images, but it may have to wait until I get back in a couple of weeks to confirm.

    Thanks,
    Alec
