    Post Newbie to the forum

Hello everyone! I just wanted to say hi and thank you for being admitted as a new member. I live in North Yorkshire, UK, but my family roots are from the North east of Scotland. I came across this forum and I am glad I did, as I have ready many interesting posts and learnt a lot from other members.

I hope to be an active member, although I might be asking some, what some might regard as trivial questions. I hope that is OK with the majority.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
I am living on the South Coast now, but was born in York and one line of my ancestry - I think the Wilsons, were 'cleared' off their land and travelled by fishing boat down the East coast and ended up in South Yorkshire on a few different smallholdings around South Hiendley.
I wore kilts as a child - some quite old ones with the leather straps in a sad state, fastening on the right side and the colours very 'weathered' as they would be described these days.

A belated warm Scottish welcome from Derbyshire!
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!
