Thoughts on sporran strap loop locations.
Being a "gentleman of substance", many have stated putting the sporran strap/ chain above the buckles on the kilt to help reduce the tendency of the sporran strap / chain to underline (and emphasize) the gut... what if the sporran strap supprt loops were moved forward, so the chain /strap did not have such a long length to sag?
Any thoughts on this? *Currently using sporran hangers with a belt.)

That would only work if the kilt had the loops and many, especially handmade ones, do not.

Have you tried sporran hangers?
Being a MOS myself, I have used the for years.
Cheers!

Yes I have been using them for a while. Been reducing my waist measurement and was hoping soon that I would not need the hangers.
Just finished remaking an ex-hire kilt to a smaller size, and was thinking if I moved the loops forward that may help... I may give it a go just to see how it works... just sew them in temporary and if it works, do it permanently.

ANothe option if using a sporran chain is to hook it over your kilt buckles on each side....

I think your idea makes a lot of sense. Try it, and then post pictures. If you wear the belt outside the loops, it would seem undetectable. Good idea!

I've found that sporran hangers dragged my belt down if I had anything but feathers in my sporran.
I've moved on.
Interesting experiment, though.
