I have just seen a Sample of the Utilikilts

A friend of mine is a garment manufacturer.
His company has just submitted their bid to make
the Utilikilts. It’s quite ironic that he would now be making Kilts.
It was his interest that got me to go to my first Highland games at Grandfather Mountain, NC. Not long after the games he
decided to make is own kilt.
It was a traditional kilt in 16oz ancient Crawford tartan. I got my Wallace kilt from a local kilt maker after I saw Jeff's.

He was quite leery of making the Utilikilts since
he knew how much work went into making is own.
Jeff spent months redoing the pleating to get it correct.

The Utilikilts are quite nice and look great. I may look at investing in one myself to use for hiking.

    Best of luck with them,

Is that mean Utilikilt is looking to mass produce their kilts? I hope it is going to lower the price a little.

I wouldn't say mass produced. I would say Utilikilts trying to keep up with demand. This
sewing Company is a small company, maybe 15 to 20 ladies who sew plus
a few other employees who help ship. They have many years of experience. They make wonderful
quality item and are hard workers. They
are one of the few last plants in this country
    that still sews garments.
These Items will not be made with the poor
quality of say "Wally world's" clothing.
    Considering how
few things are being made in this country now,
I would glady pay the price on these kilts.

This would indicate that sales of Utilikilts are brisk if they're looking to subcontract work like that. Wonder if we'll see a Utilikilt IPO anytime soon!

With the new "Survival Utilikil" debuting on Survivor 8 the good folks at Utilikilts are not sure of the response and are putting out feeliers to find a production site in case the Seattle site can not handle the production demand. They have been looking into many possibilties. It is my belief it won't reduce the price but keep up on demand. I'm justing happy to hear they are doing so well, we want to keep them in bussiness.

    Stay kilted,
    Jerry
