Jimmy,
Rest and Be Thankful was the favorite place in all of Scotland for the greatest race car driver in the world, Sir Jackie Stewart. He tells the story of when his father would take him and his brother to RaBT to appreciate the beauty of Scotland.

Thats an interesting fact about Jackie Stewart, his family came from Dumbarton where they had a garage and of course once you pass Dumbarton then you are well on the way to Loch Lomand and beyond

Very nice photos, Jimmy.
Your Main Street shot makes me reflect on the millions of dollars that were spent on my town's town square beautification. My town definitly could have taken some hints.

Very nice Jimmy! I'm in the tentative planning, but not quite committed, mode for a trip over next year. Your photos get me leaning the right direction. Thanks for posting these.

Thats right, I forgot what Luss was called in the soap.
I noticed last year when I was up at the Luss games that the local hotel, the Calquhoun Arms(I can never spell this name correctly) was closed, looked as if it went on fire, it still isn't open but there is renovation work currently taking place. I remember that at the back of the hotel car park was the Glendarroch Tearooms, they are also closed
