Looking for a MOD Tam!
Greetings to one and all. To complete a kit I am working on, I would like to find a source for a ToS, kakhi.
I am learning to play the pipes ( it no longer sounds like I am abusing a goose, I have moved up to souding like a ruptuered duck ).
I have a kilt but, after seeing a piper from one the Scotish regiments playing in destert Cami in Iraq, it might be a good option for something a little different.
Before anyone gets sideways, I plan on wearing my Clan crest with Tartan backing. I will not wear a badge from any regiment where I have been badged.
Thanks
DavidB

Re: Looking for a MOD Tam!
You can get a very old style from WPG at http://onlinemilitaria.com/shopexd.asp?id=1478&bc=no.
I have several recent regimental issue in a couple of sizes if you want a "veteran" tam. Let me know what size you need if you're interested, and I'll see what I've got.
I wear one quite often in the fall and winter with jeans and such because I like the look and they will keep your head fairly warm.

Re: Looking for a MOD Tam!
Thanks for the leads, will folow up. The only issue is to find one big enough, I would need one that is at least a 7,5/8 to an 8. I am not large person but built like a fire plug.
If you saw Lord of the rings, I am built like Gimili the dwarf, only I am 5'10'' with a better dispostion.
Thanks again, will keep looking>

Whatpriceglory.com has Tams.
I like a nice short parade that ends at a bar.
