Those caber pics are great! But did you notice the weirdo in the yellow shirt stalking you? In the PULL pic, he looks like he's about to grab you round the neck! Someone should do something about him...

A few more pix. . .
OCRichard stopped by our clan tent on Saturday, bearing gifts! I greatly enjoyed the "Black and Blue," thanks again! This is Bob in his new MacDonald of the Isles; OCRichard in his LA Scots band get-up; and me in the XMarks tartan.

Setting up for the 21-caber salute

Both mornings there was a "Salute to Veterans" during the opening ceremonies. Here is the Sunday group -- all veterans in attendance were invited to join in walking a circuit around the dignitaries' stand, led by the color guard and a reenactment group.

Among the veterans: my grandniece Ginger, active duty Navy; Bob in his Leatherneck kilt; and friends Chuck and Kathleen Ables, both Marines (Kathleen, sadly, now gets around in a motorchair due to MS)

At the closing ceremonies Sunday, a Games official (in yellow) announced there had been a World Record set in the Farmer's Carry. Here the recipient pins on the gold star he was given in recognition of this achievement.

Sorry to have missed meeting and photographing the rest of you in attendance! See you all, I hope, at Vista later this month -- come on out, it's a lovely venue and fun event!

Thank you for the pictures Sydnie.
I was at the games on Saturday and I believe I caught a glimpse of you (noticed the X-Marks tartan) around the sweater seller's stall . But lost sight of you after being distracted for a second.

I'll be at Vista this year, just signed up for the athletics on Saturday...hopefully a meet up there, since this one didn't work out.

We cruised that stall both days, if you're talking about the "gently used clothing" vendor. Saturday I spotted a blazer for myself, came back Sunday and not only was it still there but the price was lower!
Sorry to have missed you but we'll catch up down the road, if not Vista then elsewhere.

Sydnie & I will be around and about on Saturday at Vista. Our home base is our clan Donnachaidh tent. If you don't catch us there leave a message. We usually go to Hennessey's Pub in Vista on Saturday evening. Good food and libations.
