    Under The Hammer

If anyone is in the market for the late Duke of Windsor's famous Lord of the Isles suit it has come up for auction again:

    http://www.kerrytaylorauctions.com/sales/

... and by following the link below you can find an interesting discourse with some excellent photos which I hadn't seen before showing the matching waistcoat on the bias, another corduroy waistcoat with shawl lapels which he wore with the suit and details of the trouser waist (yes, hard as it is to believe some people (myself included) do get as excited about the finer details of trousers as many do about the details of kilts):

You may have to scroll down a little. Perhaps someone more technically advanced than myself will be able get the photos into the thread.

Here is the suit up for auction.

I kind of like that corduroy waistcoat with lapels!

Yes... I think it would work very well with a kilt.

Surely that is the Duke of Windsor's suit?

It brings to mind some of the Doctor Who costumes of times past.

Thank you - I did know that and it was what I meant... a senior moment! Original post amended.

You could rob a bank in that suit! Nobody would be looking high enough to see your face.
Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.

Add a few question marks and you could be the Riddler in the next Batman movie.

Losing yourself in the crowd for a get-away could prove problematic. . . but I'm with Matt, love the corduroy vest! Hmmmmm, another project. . .
