My favorite was a friend of mine in High School who went by "Del". Her last name was "Disch". For a long while, I just assumed her name was "Delilah" but it turned out her parents had actually named her "Delicious".

Not sure how common this is, but locally parents are often very inventive with names. There were two brothers a few years behind me in school. One was named Lemonjello and the other was Oranjello. I only wish this was a joke.

My brother-in-law always joked he wanted to call his two kids First Degree and Second Degree but my sister wouldn't let him. His last name is Burns.

I went to school with twin brothers: Demerol and Tramadol. Their sister was named Acetaminophen. And, apparently, the Kane clan likes the silly names, we had triplets at my middle school: Candy, Sugar, and Peppermint

My wife's school had a librarian named Female (pronounced: Fe-mal-ie).

It sounds like we may have grounds for child abuse charges considering the teasing some of these children have gone through. If I were a lawyer I think I would forgive any fees for name changes in these cases.
