Last night I had the opportunity to tune into episode 1 of the ITV series "Islands of Britain" on TVO. It was a fabulous show on the Shetland Islands, all the way from Muckle Flugga (you don't want to say that one wrong) to the outer Hebrides. For anyone else in Ontario, TVO will rebroadcast it on Tuesday, Septmber 5th at 10 pm. For those not in Ontario, you maybe be able to view it from their website after Tuesday (tvo.org) or of course it is on youtube.
Agreed. I have personally met Martin and he is as nice in real life as he appears on his shows.

Thanks Simon. He seems to be a very down-to-earth, almost shy sort of fellow. I think it is so funny that his best-known character is so unlike that.
I met him in a pub at Port Gaverne in Cornwall, which is a tiny little place about a mile from where he was filming Doc Martin. He is immensely funny and a very personable fellow without any airs and graces. A top bloke in my opinion.
