Without reading all the replies, My answer has probably already been given, but here goes. I think that at one time they were very much in style, though probably not so much as men's wear. Think about a certain gentleman's club founded by a magazine publisher who had an actress formerly known as Norma Jean pose for some photos in the early issues of the magazine. The employees of these clubs would wear rabbit ears and and a strategically placed oversized pompom attached to the uniform.
