I did it! With lots of help from the forum members, I was able to make my daughter's new dance kilt. Thankfully it was finished just in time for a competition today! IMG_6046.jpgIMG_6049.jpg I made lots of mistakes along the way, but for a first attempt, I'm very happy with it. It is a bit small on her. I think I stitched the pleats a bit too small in the hip. It's quite funny how long it is though. My daughter is very high-waisted, and then adding to that the 2-inch rise...well, it's almost 'Ed Grimley' style on her! Thankfully the vest covers it up, and hopefully she will be able to wear it for several more years!

Good job Mom!
Great job, Dee; it looks fantastic.
If she is growing at anywhere near the rate my daughter is you will be lucky to get a couple of months out of it. Good luck. BTW: nice photo of a pretty young lady. Steve
Good on you for making your first kilt, quite an accomplishment. The young lady looks happy at her mom's results, as well.
