I apologize to our new members. It is easy for many of us who have been around X Marks since its beginning back in 2004 to forget how large this forum is. It can be confusing and daunting to new members.

We sometimes forget that we need to explain to new members those things we take for granted. Things like our Plant Badge and The X Marks Tartan.

A few years ago we created an Announcement and posted it to The Kilt Board Newbie section. It explains many things. Like how the Dandelion became the plant badge of X Marks and what The X Marks Tartan that is used as the wallpaper of the forum is all about.

Even I had to go find that announcement. I had forgotten where it was.

Simply click on the Kilt Board Newbie section and look right up at the top.

Or if you wish click here.

    Hello Rabble,

I hope knobody takes any offence to this post I have always found everyone to be sensible and taking everything well here so here goes. I have no experiencing in managing a website, particularly one of this size. However it seems thy some of us are nt instantly familiar with the dandelion as a means of spotting a fellow xmarker, I must say that whenever I see a blue kilt I alway do a double take if I see a blue kilt so seeing the cmarks tartan at the top of the page works. Might it be worth including the range like on the banner of the page as well so it becomes even more a symbol of us all. Just a thought and a suggestion and not a critisism at all just a thought thrown open to those in the know and the rabble as a whole?

    Good idea.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!
