    I think Father Bill is right on, and I don't read it as a condescension regarding the issue. I'll add that the Confederacy attempted the same grasp at freedom, but lost to superior financing.

    I'm part Choctaw Indian, so I feel free to tell you to read the Declaration of Independence and see what our Founding Fathers had to say about "Native American People", meaning some of my forebearers. The same depredations went on out here in the west as the colonial east coast.

    BTW, it was the Scots who gave Indians the moccasin. My Indian forebearers neither had the moccasin nor the wheel before Europeans showed.
