Hello from Bellingham, Washington
Hi, I'm Leslie.
I'm very excited to "meet" you all, as I'm going to have a lot of questions.
I'm no stranger to the kilt, although I don't have one of my own yet. My mum's from Edinburgh, and my ex-husband and I danced, and he always wore his kilt.
I have a hostess skirt made by Celtic Crafts on the Royal Mile; I'd love to get my kilt made there too, but can't be present for them to take my measurements. So I'm going to go to Vancouver where I can meet my maker - er - so to speak. I'd love some advice on who's good and who to avoid...
I'm ordering my kilt next month, as I'll be getting married in it next July. I've chosen Black Spirit tartan. I could wear my mother's family tartan, but I discovered living in and around Edinburgh for 10 years that not everyone is all that fussed about wearing the "right" tartan. I'm going for a particular "look", and I know that I'll wear this more if I'm really happy with my choice of tartan.
All the other bits and pieces will follow, and that's where I'll have questions, but for now, it's nice to meet you!

Welcome to the "Great Rabble!"
If you're there on the coast, the owner of Freedom Kilts (click on the ad above) is also the owner of XMarks - great fellow, super craftsman. You can't go wrong!

Welcome
Welcome from a Scotsman living in the West Midlands of England.
I'm from Glasgow - if I dare mention that city to someone with Edinburgh roots!
Look forward to seeing pictures of your kilt, and (in due course) pictures of the wedding!

Well met Leslie. I hope that you will glow even more during your wedding with a kilt that is designed for you, whomever the "maker - er" is. Welcome from Oxford.
