Like my friend MacEanruig (above), I was U.S. Army parachute infantry, retired earlier this year after a little more than 31 years in.

US Army, retired after 20 years and 1 day in 2011. Served in Germany, Kansas and Hawaii, the latter of which I deployed to Iraq from 3 times. Now reside in the town of my birth: Annapolis, Maryland.

U.S. Army retired (22 years). Parachute Infantryman. Initially Indirect Fire Infantryman, later Infantryman. Also served in Armored Cavalry, Mechanized Infantry, and Light Infantry.

USAF 22 years, all in Electronic Security Command and its various incarnations. Served in both Europe and Asia. Retired in 2002. Should have been 20 years but I happened to get stop-lossed following 9/11.

There seems to be a plethora of Airborne Infantrymen around here.
What is it about parachutes and kilts?
3/325 AIR, 82nd ABN Div, Ft Bragg, NC
Airborne Battalion Combat Team, Vicenza, Italy
1/507 PIR, Ft Benning, GA -- again!

I agree. As a corollary, paratroopers and kilt wearers tend to swagger a slight bit unlike others. int:
