Purchase material from D C Dalagleish
Hi All
I am a newbie and seek forgiveness if this issue has been covered before.
I want to purchase some reproduction MacLeod tartan from DC Dalgleish to have an eight yard kilt made. Their website listed the one I like with 8 metres or so in stock. I emailed them on their request page about buying the tartan. I received a reply from Scotweb offering to supply ( and did I want them to make the kilt?) but at a significantly higher price than on the Dalgleish website.
Has anyone experience in buying kilt length material directly from Dalgleish and how to go about it?

Can you give us just a little more detail to go on. Which MacLeod Tartan are you looking for. The most common Macleod Tartans are the Red, of Harris and of Lewis.
What some weavers call their reproduction version is often the exact same colorway that is called weathered by other weavers. So, for example the MacLeod of Harris Reproduction version is also the Weathered version by another weaver.
Is this what you are looking for?

I wear the kilt because: Swish + Swagger = Swoon.

Dalgliesh no longer sells directly to the public. Retail customers must purchase through Scotweb.

Thanks, that explains the Scotweb reply.

Absolutely right. The 'cheaper' price will be the wholesale price.

It's a lovely tartan, and you'll be very pleased with your kilt, I think.

Perhaps, but in Weathered you can look like one of the guys in Outlander!
WoB shades (I saw what you did there...)

Were you planning to make the kilt yourself? If not, and you were planning to have the kilt made, you don't need to provide the tartan to a kiltmaker. Any kiltmaker can order the tartan for you at wholesale prices. If you're interested in having a kilt made, PM me!
