For those who might be interested in the Tartans of the Scottish Regiments of the Canadian Army, past and present, the Canadian Soldier (CANUCK) web site now has a page devoted to the subject:

From the front page, click on the link on the left side bar marked "uniforms". The link to the Tartans page is the last link.

Thanks cajunscot, now I have another excuse to order a Hunting Stewart tartan. I was not aware that it was the tartan of the The Canadian Scottish Regiment. That means more to me to order, than a character on a show, and I think Duncan rocks.

That's why I now have an authentic pair of Cameron trews.

Haven't worn them yet... but they're there!

I tossed this site on to Dad in Pittsburgh. Since he delivered the newspapers to the army in WWII, and we have a load of family that was in the Canadian Armed Forces, he'll go NUTS over this site!

Someday I will get a pair of trews myself...they look GREAT with a double-breasted blue blazer, or even a Charlie Jacket. I've seen a couple of fellows pull this off at Burns Nichts and really stand-out.

I was just talking to my wife and broached the subject of maybe getting a pair of trews myself. She got a rather horrified look on her face and remarked, "PLEASE! Just stick to kilts!"

She surprised me a bit with the emphasis she applied to her answer.... but I guess I can live with that. :mrgreen:
