    Linen

I love this look. Linen is also an ancient fabric, and ideally suited to the warm weather.

One does need to check the lining fabric. A polyester lining will ruin the breathing and wicking properties of the linen.

I was in a fabric store last month and saw a lovely tan/brown tweed fabric, but it was 100% cotton! Such a fabric, with some well placed interfacing would make a good "Traditional" look, but tropical weight jacket and waistcoat.

It has been about three years ago I think, that I saw one of the bigger online vendors was offering a lovely lightweight linen jacket and waistcoat cut in a very casual style and in generally lighter colors that I thought would be a wonderful idea for summertime or those in warmer climes (like I am now). But it has been a while and I have not seen another like it, and I cannot remember which vendor it was. You could always get one custom tailored in the lightweight fabric of your choice if you have the financial wherewithal. I had a british tailor in Louisville who was willing to make a custom jacket/waistcoat for me in some nice Harris tweed but just the tailoring and additional materials (backing, lining, stiffener, etc...) was prohibitive for me at the time a year or two ago. I sure would love a nice linen set though.
