The outfit looks really good and I'm sure you were widely admired at the party.

I have only one wee quibble, and it might have more to do with the lighting on your photo (although I love the tree). The jacket/vest and the hose both look great, but together they make the outfit quite dark. Given that it's an evening party, possibly with "atmospheric" (dim) lighting, I might have chosen some brighter hose to lighten things up a little. But I tend to go for bright colors anyway and your hose look handsome and respectable.

Don't be afraid to match. My tartan is mostly re and green and my hose are generally shades and combinations of those colors, too.

Finally, I have to compliment you on a truly first-rate beard. I think that beards look best when they are bold but groomed and yours really fits the bill. Well done!

    Thanks for all the feedback!
I was very comfortable wearing this for the party. And i received many compliments.

I think the lighting looks darker because the iphone was trying to compensate for the tree lights!

As for the sporran- i like my plain black one...dont really care for the fur sporrans- but really want a hunting sporran. I really like how they look plus i wont sound like a horse clomping around!
I am always on the lookout for more hose. I have bottle green, black and oatmeal.

Anyway- thanks again for the encouragement!
