Don't weaken mate, keep scowling, me and Bubba cracked, smiled once and I for one never felt the same since.
You were right, you warned me about the dangers of smiling and I didn't listen, I thought,'one smile, what can it hurt?'. I just didn't think it could happen to me, I thought I'd be able to get away with doing it just the once.
So Phil don't be weak like I was, stay strong and don't you dare look like you're enjoying yourself
Cheers Rhino

I remember that smile, same situation I was in when I smiled.we where both stood close to women, and could only see on of their hands.
makes you wonder where the other hand was, and why we was smilin'.

Speaking of smiling for a photo. Maybe in the pic of Phil, he had the camera on self-timer. Myself, I'm a smiler but when you are take a self-pic, it's not easy to turn on a smile just like that. You look good though Phil. S'funny in slacks I never worried much about how I looked but now with the kilt I'm always wanting to look my best! - Alan

You are looking just fine to me, Phil. (Smilin' or not! By the way, how does one learn not to smile convincingly? I almost bust a gut trying not to smile for the photo of my leather Union Kilt in my Gallery.)
If I had one small comment to make on your latest 'ensemble', it would be that you might look better if you rolled the hose down. I've never thought that boots look quite 'right' worn with formally worn kilt hose. For me it's generally: hose up = shoes; hose down = boots - but it's a personal thing!
Apart from that - GREAT!

thanx ham, I'll try the sox down thing,it does look good on you, as for the not smiling thing, you either got it or you don't, even if you frowned ham, I don't think you would look scary at all.
I tell you what ham, I'll do all the scary frowning for both of us, you do the smilimg for us both, is it a deal?
ps, do you roll or fold the sox down?

Phil mate, I'll happily smile for both of us, and leave the frowning (or straight-faced look) to you!
Some years ago, I always just pushed the hose/sox down, but then I realised how sloppy and unkempt that looked! Now, I invariably pull the hose right up, as if I was going to wear them 'formally' (but obviously without garters and flashes!). Then I fold the tops over and down about 3" or 4", and repeat that until they are where I want them to be.
