    Badger fur sporran with silver plated chantle

    That's a beauty! I love the 1950's/60's cantles that tended to be silver plated rather than chrome plated. They develop a nice patina.

    The new chrome plated ones make my eyes bleed (almost!)

    I saw that on Ebay, it's a beautiful sporran!

    That cantle was a standard design throughout the 1950s through 1970s, very high-quality casting with crisp details, usually silverplated, and usually stamped Made In Scotland in tiny letters on one side.

    On ones I've seen the diamond is a separate piece, screwed in place.

    YES, the Diamond is a separate piece and it's screwed on, and "YES", it's silver plated.
