I'm with Riverkilt on the barefoot stuff, but I totally understand that isn't your bag.
A cursory search for orthopedic dress shoes turned up these guys from Dr. Comfort.
I'm not an expert when it comes to shoes, nor highlandwear, but I do definitely understand how hard it can be to find a good pair of shoes. Here's one other vendor who seems to stock a lot of orthopedic shoes. While I agree with the others that any shoe that works for you will be just fine, I think you'll look best in something approaching a leather dress shoe if it's at all possible.

Clark's also produces a line of orthopedic shoes called Ortholite. I've had a few pairs of Clark's in the past (not orthopedic, just regular soles) and they were very comfortable.

I normally wear ecco shoes.
I have seen then do some hybrid style shoes in the past, think of something like a brogue/wingtip/oxford shoe with a trainer sole.
if you want something more formal looking than your current footwear maybe these would do it - although as others have said, comfort and common-sense should prevail over any perception of what is "right".
Some examples from ecco:

I think I have seen similar from BASE ands SOLE in the UK.

For the past several years, I have been wearing an orthotic/diabetic ghillie brogue from Avriel International. These have a thick, rubber sole, are the wide width I need and are by far the most comfortable ghillie brogues I have worn in the past 40 years (https://www.avriel.com/piper-39-s-co.../prod_215.html).

The reason I suggested Bealls is that there should be one local to you to actually try something on.
Good hunting.

It's what I love about this online community, and the main reason that I've stayed as long as I have.
