Duke of Rothesay Hunting (the simplified form as discussed at the bottom of p.8 - http://www.scottishtartans.co.uk/Duk...ay_Tartans.pdf).

    Thanks for posting that!

It's a clearer image of Edward's sporran (in its original state) than I had seen.

Interesting how that sporran was modified over the years, first by having all five of the cords supporting the tassels bobbed, lastly by having two of the five tassels removed.

Charles' sporran seems to have undergone only cord-shortening, and a new centre knob.

If you mean the tartan worn by both boys in the first photo, no, it's the Duke of Rothesay.

Purely out of interest Peter, is there actually a Prince of Wales tartan? I fully understand that a Prince of Wales, could wear many tartans if he wished.

    Jock,

Only insofar as Viyella woven the Duke of Rothesay tartans incorrectly and so sold them under the name Prince of Wales for a while. Both versions are nowadays sold as Duke of Rothesay and the King wears the hunting version due to Kinloch Anderson using the wrong tartan.

Has Charles worn either of his Duke of Rothesay kilts since becoming King?
