Am I the only one who can't stand those "Jacobite" shirts?

Nope. I won't go so far as to say that "I can't stand" them, but you'll only see me wearing them at Renn Faire gigs. Otherwise, they make me look like a bat.

Hey Todd... as for Central Florida's Celtic culture, I'm sure it's there. We're EVERYWHERE. It's all relative, but I understand.

No, you're definitely not. I don't share your dislike, but I know other folks definitely do.

Isn't that the truth, Jimmy -- it sure proves that the Celts are a "diaspora people", and continue to be so.

I'm not big on the white or off-white Jacobite shirts -- our piper has one in a sage green which works well with his Campbell kilt, but that's an exception. I guess I'm not fond of them because they're everywhere as well.

Yes, they do fit in at Ren Faires.

I never wear my kilt to Ren Faires, though. It would seem like I was using it as a costume.

Nope, I can't stand them either. At least usually. Bear had some pretty cool ones from L&M Highland Outfitters at the games this year, and I was almost tempted. http://www.landmhighland.com/default...typ=60&pid=461

In general I kinda like the look of the Jacobite shirt....except for the lacing. Leave out the lacing and it's a reasonably comfortable design for moderate to cool weather.

    Duncan,

    WELCOME!

As far as wearing the kilt, I would suggest that you check out Hamish's personal gallery mentioned in his signature area of his posts. Looking at that gives many of us the feeling and sense of wearing the kilt with a little decorum, even if we do not have any LOL.

    Again welcome!

That's precisely why I wear it with my caramel workman's UtiliKilt. ;)

Same here Bubba, I have found that they can make great nightshirts though
