Kilt shops in Australia?
IT appears I'll be making a business trip down to Sydney and Melbourne in the next few weeks and as this is my first time to Australia, was wondering if there were a kilt shop or two worth visiting in either of those two cities?
Not sure how much free time I'll have, but I thought I'd ask.
Cheers

I would certainly be interested in finding a kilt shop worth visiting in Melbourne. The only kilt shop I know of (apart from hire servces) is “House of Scotland” 309 Whitehorse Road, Balwyn (pronounced Ball-win.) This is a suburb of Melbourne about 10km from the city. This shop sells Scottish trinkets, tartans and accessories. There are a few used kilts but mainly they will take orders for new kilts and Scottish attire to be made to size at quite a high cost. On a business trip I don’t think that that it would be worth going out of your way to visit this shop.
If you were visiting Brisbane you could try:www.highlandhouse.com.au
Enjoy your visit to Australia.

I agree with David, the prices are quite high for a lot of things here.
I visited a Tasmanian Scottish shop on the weekend, it was the same.
I buy most of what I need from Scotland, USA and Canada.

hehe, thanks gents. I was hoping that prices were lower somewhere else....things are quite high here in the U.S. although I did find a few bargains in Scotland last month.
Guess I'll stick with internet shopping for now. Always nice to actually put your hands on an item for purchase prior to opening the wallet though....

well Iain, coming here with US $$ you probably will think the prices are cheap.
It's when we shop with Oz$$ in the US, or worse, in the UK then things seem very dear.
At least Canadian $$ are on par with us.
