Tun Tavern was a St. Andrew's Society too...long before. What a great deal, thanks Todd. Is this a great board or what??
Come on...I can't be the oldest...thought there were some aging jarheads down in Dixie...??
Gotta haul my aging body off to work where there's a Marine older than me and a still gung-ho Marine youngster helping organize our local Veteran's Day parade. Funny the kid outranked us old birds.

Happy anniversary to all members of "The Corps" from a former navy Swabie. I'll always remember the Marine Corp birthday because my ship, The USS Julius A Furer, DEG 6 was commisioned the same day. The first anniversary of our commisioning is a great memory (although understandably a bit fuzzy), involving combining a ships party with a group of US Marines celebrating the Corps anniversary at an EM club in Gitmo. WE ran out of mixers and they were out of alcohol, a perfect match. We drank toasts to the Marine Corps and the marines toasted our ship.

Happy Birthday Marines, from a Navy swabbie. Spent my whole Navy contract working with and for marine units. My respect and admiration for the job you do is boundless.
