In theory, my wife's paying for my time.

As a college student, I find way too many opportunities to check in. My desk is in the livingroom, so even when the family is watching TV, the computer's on.

(I supported her through college, so turnabout's fair play, right?)

The househusband thing came about in an odd way. I used to drive long haul truck. After way too many years of it my wife demanded I quit and to prove she meant business she had gotten a job while I was gone. After the kids moved on she decided she liked the pampering having me at home provided and didn't want to change that and since my own view of myself has never been job dependent it doesn't bother me a bit. The kilt angle has been fun for her the last year and a half. She gets to tell people she wears the pants in the family.

Archangel, Thanks! I found it on Avatarity. Do a search on Celtic and it comes up. I don't know if there is a full size version. Now that you have mentioned it, it would be a great wallpaper for the PC.

Some of us are just lucky that way. I know I'm enjoying it.

I was a FedEx Ground contractor with a P-1000 (around town delivery) and my wife agreed that the FedEx gig is a young man's job - it's harder than it looks. As much as I loved the job, as a contractor, I had no way to move up in the company, so at 40, I sold my truck to go to school and figure out what I want to be if I grow up.

Amen to that brother. I filled in for 8 weeks for a friend that owns a courier service a few years back when he broke his arm. Those delivery jobs can be tough and exhausting. Local delivery can be harder work than long haul and I sure wouldn't want to do it for a living.

I"m one of those folks that usually spends 15 or 20 minutes eating lunch at my desk and reading the news on the net. Lately I've been forgoing the news to read posts here. One day last week I noticed I had been "lunching" for nearly two hours.

    Gotta watch that. :-D

If you come up with any good ideas, let us know. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up, and I just turned 45!!

Just remember, Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional!
