I'll miss MOTG as much as the next person... but I have to say that after the departure of Archie, Lexie, Kilwillie, Duncan, and Hector... it would appear that the show really needed to go.
The characters of Paul, Ewan, Donald and Isobel weren't enough to do justice.
Of all of the varied characters, I'll miss the taciturn and wise Golly, most of all.

Ah now, I could have watched Isobel with the sound off and still enjoyed her scenes
Ewan annoyed me, but I thought Donald was a bit of fun. I agree though, once the main cast started to leave the show went down hill.
As a side note, has anyone else read Compton MacKenzie's novel "Monarch of the Glen"? I have read MOTG and am waiting for the Rival Monster and Ben Nevis Goes East to arrive so I can read those as well.
I loved Whisky Galore and will have to finish that series next.

So, Colin, where did you manage to find any of the books? I've been looking around here (Chicago) and on the 'net and haven't had much success.

Todd reminded me about interlibrary loans. Basically your local library can import books from any ohter library. I looked for them for sometime, but than went the library route. Entertaining books.

Neither have I Blu. Perhaps you and I should split the series and swap back and forth so we know what they are talking about.
