Sporran advice

Maybe this isn't in the right place. It isn't about kilts, I need some sporran advice. I purchased a nice day sporran at The Richmond Celtic Christmas Show last month. I noticed that the black dye seems to come off onto my hands. Fortunately, it is only the dye from inside the sporran which does this, otherwise my Irish National would now have black smudges on it. Anyone have any ideas how I can "set the dye" so it doesn't do this?

The lady at Tandy Leather told me that Behr concrete sealer made the best color seal for leather. She also added that it might stiffen up the leather. I ended up geting something called "Super Shene" Leather finish, on her recommendation.
