Kilt reference by Chi Trib columnist

    Okay...here we go again:

    http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/c...avrailnews-nav

You'll have to read through most of the column to get to the reference to kilts but I think we have a potential convert here.

Okay, THIS guy gets it. He gives the fashion industry just what it deserves, and the ladies in his office give him sound advice ... and his reason for turning down that advice is plausible. (I'd assume he doesn't wear shorts for the same reason.)

    Nice tag.

Maybe he should do a follow-up on kilts!

I sent him the following email:

    "In your article you wrote:

'...Later, two women took pity on me and said I should wear Scottish kilts to work to be sexy. But I'm as bowlegged as Rumpelstiltskin.

So I guess I'll stick with the cardigans.'

Take it from a man who wears the kilt often, the kilt makes bow-legged men look good too - it also hides a beer gut very well indeed. The natural stance in the kilt is with legs further apart than when wearing trousers, so it makes one look more manly, more virile and it actually serves to hide bow-leggedness. I realise that what you wrote was in jest, but the ladies do love the kilt, and it's much more masculine than those sissy trousers. Wear it to work and you'll get all the attention from the opposite sex that you can handle - but as with the low-cut blouse for women, don't expect it to gain you a promotion.

Trust me, it's a chick magnet - just ask my wife. Actually, ask any woman. Why do you think that so many of those pulp romance paperbacks are set in Scotland between the 17th and 19th centuries? ;)

    - Ian Cooper, non-Scottish yet a proud kilt-wearer. Once you put one on you'll never go back."
