Kilted Artwork
Since I commissioned a copy of a painting to be done last year of a favourite painting of two men working in kilts...I've had an interest in collecting painting or prints depicting men in kilts.
I've found a nice print here
I have ordered it and will have it framed locally.
heck I have this kilt thing bad

Graham,
Nice painting. Very nice scene and very peaceful.

Very nice painting, well chosen, but is it just me or is his kilt a little on the short side, or did they prefer them that way back then??

From the library book on Scottish clothing that I've been reading, a lot of the glossy plates show the men wearing kilts that were significantly shorter than what we wear today.
I'll have to check the title of the book, since I just returned it to the library, but it had a lot of great pics.

Graham,
Just love the serene nature of the picture, very nice indeed.
It seems that I too am noticing more and more pieces of art that have some sort of Kilted gent in them. No complaints, just simply love them all, so yes we all have this Kilt thing bad.

Graham: I searched that art site and came up with various pics of Scotland and a search under Kilt brought up a pic of another kilty.

Actually, that kilt length is pretty close to traditional length (top of the knee cap). It is a little short, but traditional kilts were worn at top of knee cap or shorter, but never longer.
