    I ordered the "disgusting" version...

For some reason I really like it...it's pretty ugly, but I still like it...it's something different and I like the ancient "touch".

Reserved for my MacLaren "ancient 1819 variant" kilt (House of Edgar).

Brenda from kiltpins.com informed me this kiltpin was just sold

    but....

She offered me another vintage grouse pin...

I like it even better...so I get this one instead.

As for me, I like the first grouse claw kilt pin! Very cool! The more ornate ones are kind of strange looking to me, as they look less "natural."

Can't find the picture and don't remember the answer, so here goes again.
Do the claws point up or down?

Judging from the antlers on the deer's head on the last picture, the claws would be on top.

Yep...seems to be the right way to wear it.

I attached it to my MacLaren ancient 1819 kilt, but it will move on to the weathered MacLaren (somewhere in the future ).

I received another antique silver kiltpin...this will go on the "1819"

This kiltpin will be available in pewter soon
