you are correct.....and the difference being...?
Personal choice, perhaps. Makes all the difference.
And on that note, no more from me so as not to end in lockup.

sometimes when reading posts which are meant to be jokey, which are then taken to be very serious, I wonder where our world is going.
If a man or a woman wants to have their head shaved for charity why don't we respect their good intents.I can't believe that many of us really believe that a shaved head is actually a sign of shame?
The fact that some people are prepared to do this is GREAT, and I for one applaud them, I hope that they raise all the money they wish, and that it serves the cause well.
My partner of many years lost his hair as a result on chemo therapies, today he is still around and feels no shame about shaving his hair to raise money for charity
My point with this point is .. I think .. just to let live and enjoy life, however you want to

Last year when I was in Dallas on business, I was having dinner at Humperdinks on the north side and a very beautiful young woman came to me with a donation sheet. She had dark hair down over her shoulders and explained she was having it cut for St. Baldricks and the money would go to childhood cancer research. I gave her twenty dollars and she was with about 15 young people who had their heads shaved before I had finished dinner. I was shocked at how pretty she was even bald and was shocked that she would do that. We talked a little after the shaving and she explained her two year old son had leukemia and she would do anything to help him. How can anyone fault her?

I was going to keep quiet here as i seem to have a talent for starting/participating in threads that get locked up (no comments about my needing to be locked up here) but just want to echo the sentiment that its a matter of personal choice if someone shaves thier head and as its for a very worthy cause here, it should be encouraged & respected (not saying that its isnt, but just putting that out there)
Also many women who shave thier heads look damned good IMHO. It moves the focus from the adornment to the face itself especially the eyes and can be very very appealing. Natalie Portman/Sigourney Weaver/Sinead O'Conner & Persis Khambutra just to name a few
If Mother Nature hadnt beaten me to teh punch i woudl gladly participate in something like this. I have a brother who had chemo a many years back - he is doing fine now but to aid in sparing another parent the anguish of having to see thier child go thru something like that is one of the greatest things a person could do.
ITS A KILT, G** D*** IT!
WARNING: I RUN WITH SCISSORS

Well, I dont have enoug hair to make a donation, but if I could I would grow it out.
...and hair is just hair, nothing more, it doesnt make you a better person or more anything, its just hair. Its there to cover your grape from the cold or to make it look cool...just a thought...
