I'm sure there must be an "Outlaw Jones of Wales" joke to be made here somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. Does Clint Eastwood ever wear tartan? Might be a good choice for him.
Definately, especially considering his favourite screenplay writer is Paul Haggis.

Ooof, I don't think you can go wrong with either tartan: that being said, I ask if you'll be looking at the Gunn in 16oz or a lighter weight? What weight is your current cilt, 13 oz? The Welsh wool for my cilt is 13oz and soft as a baby's....well, you know. My 16oz kilts on the other hand, are a bit coarser and heavier, but very nice on those brisk spring and fall days. Why not try something a bit different?
Bryan...let us know which you choose...

I think the obvious solution is to order two kilts...

I agree, but on the first time out go with the Jones. Yes for the reasons already mentioned, it would be a great honor for Elaine.

As many have already stated, I would go with the Jones tartan. I'm sure it would make your wife happy and proud. It is certainly a beautiful tartan.

Add me to the Jones side. It'll be a wonderful honor for Elaine and you'll match on stage.

Personaly I'd order two kilts at the same time....but.......... I would go for the Jones. I'm looking really hard to get something a bit away from all the reds and greens I have. Hmmmm. I wonder if I can pull off a Jones connection via my father's first cousin's husband's family.
Ya know, I really can rationalize most anything.

Both are very nice looking tartans and both cary a personal family significance. But beyond that, I'd like to suggest that the A.Gunn is probably prefereable for a couple of reasons. First, I think the colors of the A.Gunn will offer more opportunity to match up with different clothing options. (Blue is not as easy to match up with some shades of green and brown.) Also, from a purely esthetic standpoint, I think the A.Gunn suits your complexion a bit better that the Jones. I believe youll find the Gunn more versatile for the all around style you present. There's my tuppence worth.
Cheers.
