As there is such an influx of newbies of late (myself included), it would be nice to get to know a bit more about who is who on Xmarks & what makes them tick etc, so I have come up with the following list of 20 questions that might fill out the images we have of ewach other & allow us to get to know each other a bit better and discover even more that we have in common besides an appreciation of kilts

Wow, these are interesting. And I get to ride coattails, LOL. I see the GMan used to live in Abilene and Lubbock, TX and that DaveDove is in Frederick, so I've had Xmark neighbors then and now!

Jayscott Embry. Most folks call me Scotty. Some of my younger siblings call me Tockins which is a family nick.

2. Where do you live:
Silver Spring, MD

3. How many other places have you lived:
born in Lubbock, TX. Grew up split between Abilene, TX and Rogersville, AL (on the Tennessee River). College and grad in Austin, TX; College Station, TX; Chicoutimi, Québec, Canada. Worked in Huntsville and Dallas Texas in between and spent a LOT of time at my grandfather's ranch in Quanah, TX. Did short stints in Paramatta just outside of Sydney then outback in Walgett, both in New South Wales, Australia. Just moved to the D.C. suburbs in Maryland.

4. How many other places in the world have you visited:
I haven't traveled too much besides North America except that stint in Oz. I've done the Mexican border towns (both sides) and SCUBA dived off Cozumel. I've driven Southern Cal, Colorado, New Mex and ALL the South extensively. Oh, and in college I hitchhiked coast to coast in Canada. MANY stories from that.

5. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I think I'd go to Iceland and to New Zealand.

6. Name something you like physically about yourself:
As long as I don't overdo on day one, I don't sunburn.

7. Name something non-physical you like about yourself:
I have good intuition.

Tenish.

Prolly three or four.

10. What got you started in this in the first place:
Lots of Celitc tradition in the family, but no kilts. Enter 80's grunge. It was a fun combo. LOL

Grocery shopping yesterday.

When I'm not nekid.

Stranger who yelled from a car last week. A Scot ex-pat on the Metro a few days before that.

Dog freak. Have Lab and Lab mixes.

10. What got you started in this in the first place: I ordered a tartan kilt. It took so long to arrive that I had to order a Utilikilt to tide me over. It was all down hill from there.
11. Where was the last time/place you wore your kilt? Don't remember exactly. I wear my kilts pretty frequently. No special event required.
12. Favorite time to wear a kilt: Yes
13. Last person who gave your favorable feedback about your kilt wearing: I wore the kilt to the office on casual Friday and several co-workers thought it was really cool.
14. Last person who gave your UNfavorable feedback about your kilt wearing: Several others at the office thought I had lost my mind. I have never had anyone be really mean about it.

Name one thing you have done that others might think a bit insane (like bungee jumping etc): I used to remove the guts from old tube televisions and while they were on would pour water on the guts to see what would happen. I also used to connect transistor radios to 110 volt house current instead of 9 volt batteries to watch the result.

There were other parties going on at the same time and a man from another christmas was making fun and calling it a skirt. He was attending his Christmas party in jeans, a jeans shirt, and cowboy boots and he had the nerve to talk about the way I was dressed.

What do you like to do OTHER THAN wear/talk about/obsess over kilts: I am obsessed by Scottish genealogy so I spend a lot of time researching my family history, I'm interested in photography so take a lot of pictures, I love the Scottish countryside and am lucky enough to live in a rural environment which I enjoy, we like to take short city breaks to European cities
