One other incident of amusement occured yesterday...

While signing out my young daughter from her preschool class a lady came up behind me to sign out her daughter as well. She regarded by attire and asked
if I played the bagpipes. I told her no, but that I did take Scottish country Dance classes with my wife. She then said "we have a next door neighbor who plays the bagpipes". I thought about this and replied "Well...that can be a good thing or a bad thing..."

    She cracked up.

Cool stories, Panache! I love it when things like that happen. Kinda makes life more enjoyable.

I had a similar situation a few nights ago at a Chinese restaurant. I was up at the buffet filling my plate when a rather brutish "redneck" looking fellow stopped dead in his tracks to stare at me. He then called to his teenage son and told him to come over and "check out this guy's attire".

I prepared myself for the worse, but as the kid came around his eyes lit up, and he said "Wow, a kilt! COOL"!! His dad asked me if it was for a special occasion or did I wear it all the time. I replied "all the time, I have 8 of them" and he said "fantastic, nice to see someone break out of the box for once". All in all a really nice experience.

I trust that was remedied as soon as you were able to do so.

It seems I caused a car accident this weekend: I was coming near to a small side street in Ronsdorf, one car was standing, waiting for the traffic to clear, another one came from behind. The driver saw me, stared and forgot to brake!!

Luckily only the bumpers were damaged, he was already going slowly!
