Great pictures! I especially like the massed pipe bands coming over the hill top, it must have been quite stirring.
It was a good weekend for X Markers to gather.

He made the dirk himself - if you like that you should see his sqian dubh, also self-made. It is antler from a deer shot by his grandfather, a damascus blade from Atlanta Cutlery, small costume diamonds and saphires inset into the handle, topped with a diamond and saphire brooch (costume) that he got from Target. I'm going to get some pics of that when I see him at Stone Mountain and post them if he's ok with that.
He made his own tweed day jacket in lovat blue from a thrift store jacket, found a military mess jacket for $6 and added the square buttons for a very nice formal look, and even made his own gillie brogues out of a pair of thrift store wing tips - just cut out the tongue and cut indentations between lace holes and added long laces. A very clever guy and nice as they come.

I think it's great you lads got together at the games. I look forward to meeting many of you at Stone Mountain in just under two weeks.

I'm new to the forum so just found this thread. Loch Hartwell Games were fantastic. Mike Gordon and everyone else who put the Games together did a wonderful job and made my children, mother and myself feel very much at home. I will be going back again next year for sure.
Thanks for sharing the pics.
Turpin, your daughter is a sweetheart. Thank her again for me for teaching my two how to do a little celtic dancing.

Hey Turpin! I really do apologise - somehow I missed this thread earlier. It certainly looks as if everyone had a good day together. You have some good photos there. The "Hamish Dip": I've not heard it called that before, but I like it (it sounds nicely 'choreographic' - perfect for the upcoming show 'Hamish, the Musical' ........ are you guys up for the auditions?!! )

Hamish, you are forgiven for missing this post. The games took place while you were slaving away at poolside in Palm Springs (do they make tartan swim trunks?) and got buried over time. I am definitely up for the musical. How's this?
"I am the very model of a kilted gent sartorial
Who takes his kilted photos in a garden that's arboreal
I have more kilts than anyone on X-Marks yes that's for re-al
My one square foot of old Lochaber soil's not quite manorial."
With apologies to Gilbert and Sullivan (and Panache)
