USMC Birthday Ball 2006 Key West

The Marines of Key West threw another outstanding party. The Marine Corps was founded in a tavern in 1775. Keeping with tradition, the Key West Marines took over Finnegan's Wake Irish Pub to celebrate their 231st birthday. It was an honor for this old sailorman to celebrate with them. As you can see..the ladies love a sailor in a kilt.

The post brings back good memories of Key West for me. I worked on a project there for 3 years at NAS Key West, and the project team had some fun nights on the town. Wish I'd been kilted then!!
