fantastic photo shoot! I really like the background shots, with the nice wood panels! Your model does the kilt justice. I really like the picture where he is standing near the couch/chair and you can see the fly plaid on the top of the couch/chair. Maybe you can enlarge it and send it to a company that makes digital pictures in paintings, or photoshop it to look like a painting!

He models the kilt well and the formal setting also looks good.

I really like the outdoor shots. I get a better overall view of the tartan. I guess I like the natural full lighting. Those could very well be from a kilt makers page. Nice work.

    My two cents...

I like the first and third photos. In each of those you seem to have caught a genuine moment in your model. The third one especially has an intensity that even though the lighting isn't perfect (or perhaps because of it) makes the photo about the serious expression and thoughts of the model instead of the outfit and setting.

The picture in front of the fireplace is well composed but it does come across as very staged. If you are emulating a particular style or portrait that is fine. I would have prefered it if you could have coaxed more expression from the model. That would have been outstanding.

The outdoor shots are well composed and photgraphed as well. They seem very much in the manner of a fashion shoot rather than art. The outfit seems to be the focus rather than the subject.

I hope you will share another group of photos with us in the future.

Nice pics. I am not a professional photographer, but I really like the color, depth, and subject of these shots. I also could see some of these shots as paintings over a mantelpiece.

Wow Beloit, the pics are really well done. The first one strikes me as something right off of the Geoffrey Tailor website. Outdoors shots are great too. Alot better than many actual kilt retailer photos.

The funny thing about this shoot was that he was wearing all of my clothes, but he's about 5 sizes smaller than me. If you were to look at his from behind, you'd see about a dozen clothespins holdind the kilt up and the jacket tight. Oh, the magic of film.

So the question hasn't been asked, NO, NOT THAT question. But, is he a kilt wearer or will he be soon?
