Definatley Wicked Tinkers!
I too like the early Seven Nations but feel they have sold out on the last few albums.

OK, so they're more traditional, but they still have a lot of energy.

All good stuff above.
I used to travel to Northern Ireland and Scotland on business quite frequently, and I always listened to the Gaelic stations when there.
As for cited tunes, for blood stirring, let's-pull-out-the-swords-and-charge pipes, nothing can beat "Cabar Feigh." Still makes me want to fight whenever I hear it. "Cock o' the North" is pretty good, too. Comes in a close second.

Thanks for the Paddyrock link. I don't have any others that aren't listed already.
What's meant by road kill in reference to 7Nations? And, by the way, have loved that band for years now.

I've had a love for Celtic music for most of my life. My son has taken up with it now as well. He would rather listen to bag pipes than rock 'n roll.

In response to the 7Nations Roadkill reference, I feel that Roadkill was the album that signalled my growing dislike with their sound. I think once Anderson left the band got a much more commercial "pop" type of sound with a fiddle or pipes just thrown into the background. Also, at the last few shows I saw around that time it was like they all of the sudden decided that performing kilted was some kind of gimmick and they stopped wearing kilts. It's just as well anyway, because I found Clandestine around the same time along with other faves like The Rogues and ETH, so I don't so much miss 7Nations. They were really good during the time of their first three albums though. I even saw them back when they were still called Clan Na Gael, back before realized that was the name of an Irish extremist group after which they changed their name to 7Nations. The sad thing is for having a name like that, the longer they went on, the less their music resembled anything Celtic let alone paying homage to any of the 7 Nations of the ancient Celts. I know a lot of people still like them but they're just not my cuppa tea anymore.
