Anybody remember the old Harvey cartoons? There was this duck, very large, very strong, well meaning but not too bright. That was my nickname all through high school. You figure it out!

I don't mind Dread's "real life" name at all, in fact I quite like it.
*shrug* whatever, I'd still prolly call you Dread if I ever meet you, cause to me that IS your name.
Can I slightly change the original thread topic?
question: If you met other board members, would you be offended if they called you by your xmarks name?
second question: Would you respond?
I've met people from other boards I frequent and totally responded to Cloves. By the end of the week (a bunch of us had gotten together for a big WTA tennis tourny) my name had even evolved to "Clovesy." Basically a nickname from my nickname.

So, my forum name oughta do just fine for ya. ;)
Definitely not my real name, but I've been using it in online forums and gaming for so long that I will answer to it.

Dread, Shandy actually means Boisterous and fits you rather well. However my kids do call you Mr. Dreadbelly.
I could not spell my middle name until I was 12. I was named after my grandmother and other than her, I have met one other person in my life with this name. It is the name for the Greek Goddess of Dawn. Lets see if anyone is up on their mythology.
I do RPG games on line. While here I use my real name, in RP I use a character name. When we do all get together once a year, I tend to be called by the character name I started out with even though I no longer play her.

Eos? I might be completely off... I thought Eros for a moment and knew that was wrong.
