Sporrans
I have yet another beginners' question: how low is too low for a sporran? I have always assumed it should not be too far down from the belt. Is this about right, or am I way off?

A similar question could be asked of a guitarist. How low is too low for a guitar?
If you can't reach it, it's too far.

About 3 or 4 finger's below the belt should work

lower enough so it isn't over your belt buckle, but high enough so it isn't battering your bits and pieces as it bounces off your legs while you walk.

I find that higher is generally better for overall comfort. However, I also find that it needs to be low enough to drop down between your knees when you sit with your legs slightly separated. Otherwise, you may end up like the fellow who will spend all eternity being known as the guy who showed everything when sitting next to the queen!
For me, that ideal placement is about a hand's width or less below the buckle.

I thought that's where the answers came from. Like babies from the stork...
