Thumbs up I Know Where I'm Going

I forget who's mentioned this movie here before, but it was on Turner Classic Movies last night. I caught it while flipping through channels during a commercial break, so I missed the first few minutes, but then the remote didn't get touched for the next hour and a half. At first because I recognized the title from here, and then because I was enjoying the film.

The movie itself: an understated romance in 1940's Hollywood style; good story; great scenery, even in black and white; the male lead wears a kilt throughout (almost); and a nice bit of piping in a couple of spots. A couple of the supporting characters were stereotypical, but they weren't overdone.

I think I may have to find myself a copy.

Funny, I just received this in the mail from Netflix and am about to sit down and watch it with my Bride. Glad to hear another good review of the film.

Amazon.com sells it. Bit pricey but probably hard to find. IMDB.com has this on the movie.

I was only able to watch part of the movie (I had to get dinner ready for my Kids), but it was quite good for what I saw.

The movie was good. Very subtle. I'd say it's a great candidate for colorization. The DVD comes with several photo essays about the movie and the Isle of Mull where it was filmed.

I think Phil posted a review so I put it on my Netflix queue.

The F-H.C.A.G. and I thought it was a charming movie. It's well worth your time.
